Paleolithic Diet What It Is and Why It Works edition by Mackenzie Jagger Health Fitness Dieting eBooks
Perhaps you may have heard of--and probably formed wild speculations--concerning what is referred to as the Paleolithic diet. But as author Mackenzie Jagger explains in this neat, little book, `The Paleolithic Diet,' the diet consists of foods that were supposedly eaten by humans during the Paleolithic Age--a long span of time that predated the discovery of agriculture. This means the diet involves eating foods that were supposedly eaten by our hunter-gatherer ancestors. So the first and most important question would be: why would anyone eat something eaten by primitive humans?
The answer is simple: to restore our health. And as the book explains in non-BS terms, the kind of food we eat today is simply different from the type of foods our ancestors ate. While the human body has remained structurally the same, the foods we introduce to it have radically changed. These days, we eat mostly processed foods rich in additives, preservatives, and (in the case of livestock), trace amounts of harmful chemicals. The result: modern diseases such as heart failure, diabetes, and cancer.
The Paleolithic Diet provides a good healthful alternative--after all, you don't have to radically change your entire life. It's all a matter of consciously selecting the food you and your loved ones eat. By making a bit more effort in choosing your food, the result can be truly life-changing.

Paleolithic Diet What It Is and Why It Works edition by Mackenzie Jagger Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
As someone who didn't have a clue what the paleo diet is all about, this was a very useful book. Well written, plenty of explanations, and lots of recipes.
When I first bought the book, I thought I will be reading more about the science behind the paleo diet and less recipes. But still a good book.
I've been hearing all about this diet on TV but never actually gave it much consideration. However after reading this book I definitely think that this is a great, non-fad diet that will really help me eat healthier and will compliment my current exercise program.
When I first heard about this diet I didn't think it was possible to create meals that would be appetizing. I mean come on... a caveman diet? My first thought was... well quite frankly my first thought was "eww". Is that a word? I had no idea what the real "Paleolithic diet" was and I was way, way off. I hadn't realized that many of the same foods I had already eaten throughout my lifetime and found to be delicious would be foods approved and recommended by this diet.
I particularly liked the author's suggestion for those not able to initially embrace the diet wholeheartedly by implementing it in stages. I also liked the idea of learning how to season foods with spices and herbs while moving away from the use of salt and butter. And perhaps the most important statement she made (in my opinion) was that the key to this diet's success (or any diets success for that matter) is eating foods that you enjoy. I can do that!
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in eating more healthily.
I really enjoyed trying this diet. If your thinking about the Paleolithic Diet or wondering if it works you'll be just as impressed as I was with the content. The author Mackenzie Jagger has done a great job explaining this diet and how it works on weight loss. I have heard about the caveman diet but never really knew what it was and now I'm glad I got my copy of this book. I really enjoyed the breakfast ideas but there are also lunch ideas, snacks, deserts etc.
Do yourself a favor and try these out I'm glad I did.
When I picked up this book, I thought it would be a recipe book, and there are some recipes in the book, but it is much more than that. Mackenzie is advocating a change in life style. I know that cave men didn't live that long, but I don't think it was because of diet. There are diseases that we have today that we didn't have when I was a boy and they number in the hundreds. We are not nearly as healthy as we used to be and while I'm not sure we have to go all the way back to the Paleolithic period to find a good diet, something needs to change. Why not try eating natural and skipping all the processed foods. In essence, Mackenzie is saying, if we eat like a caveman, we will be much healthier and I agree with her.
I heard a lot about the caveman diet but I wasn't really sure if it was something I could understand. I have never been on a diet to lose weight but I find it more and more difficult to find natural things to eat. This book was a quick read and gave me just what I needed to realize that the Paleolithic diet was something I could use with minimal changes to what I am doing now.
By the title I thought this would be just a general information book but I was surprised to find some really good meal ideas and recipes. If you don't know anything about the Paleolithic Diet, then this is a great place to start.
